Starting with beta 2, it is possible to define your own custom time scales and to expand or contract a selection of sounds.

If you are going to slow down the tempo, the piece will last longer: start by adjusting the piece's duration by typing a longer duration in the "Duration" field in the "Parameters" toolbar.

Next, choose View > Time Scale > Other... This prompts a dialog that lets you choose some time scale parameters. Press the "+" button to create a new time scale, then edit its name and other parameters: bpm, beats per bar and bar groups.

The scale is immediately adjusted in the view each time you change a parameter.

Next, choose Edit > Select All to select all the sounds of your piece. Of course, you may choose only a subselection to adjust its duration. Then, click and drag on the right handle of the selection to extend or shrink the selected sounds to match the new boundaries of the scale. This has the effect of accelerating or decelerating the selected sounds and thus adjust the tempo.

Finally, if you have accelerated the tempo of your piece, you may want to reduce the total duration by typing a shorter duration in the "Duration" field in the "Parameters" toolbar.
