At 25-11-2008 i installed and enjoyed your very advanced HighC application.
But when a day later sun.java "Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 10"
was installed your HighC leaved me with a nasty bug.
When I tried the online Demo version applet the same bug appeared.
After i had removed that jave update the installed application and the
demo version online worked as nice as before.

The bug itself was an incorrect representation of the vertical cursor when
    the piece was playing.
And when the song was finnished the cursor started from the beginning
and was not interuptable anymore for a long time.

Next week I will try a new java update and let you know
what I find out. Maybe Sun lost a stitch.

    Sorry for my bad englisch.

Hello and thank you for your report. I am commited to solve it to the best of my ability.

However, I use Java Update 10 with HighC (on a PC), and never met the problem you describe.
    - Are you using a Mac?
    - Can you send me a snapshot of what you see?
    - Can you report if you see anything in the Tools>Messages window ?
(see How to find out more and report a bug).
    - Does the problem happen at all qualities (try "medium quality", "high quality" and "max dynamics")?

If you want: I can auch Deustch verstehen, Entiendo Espanol, Italian should not be much of a problem, and of course, as a native French, Je comprend le Francais.

Ik begrieb ook Nederlands (Mijn vrouw is nederlands).

    Bedank,

Zeer bedankt voor uw snelle reactie.

Nadat ik "Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 10" vandaag opnieuw installeerde
ontstond de zelfde bug als voorheen.

Fujitsu-Siemens Computer Intel Celeron 3.6 GHz 480 MB

    Nogmaals bedankt.

    Hello,

I have found out what is your problem: There indeed is a bug, or "feature" in sun latest java update that concerns XOR drawing, which I use in HighC. Apparently, it leaves traces like you mentions, and slows everything down.

I will try to find a workaround. In the meantime, reverting to the previous update is the only solution, as you mention...

    Thanks for mentioning your issue...
  1.
    Dear Mr T.Baudel,
    please help me about this:

which is the most adaptable latter version of Java for a safe running of HighC 2.5 pro? (for example, I had a lot of problems with the newest version Java 6.12, so I geted back to the older version of Java 5 - without problems).

    Thanks
    G.Hatzimichelakis

    Hello,

I have to say, I don't have a definitive answer to that. HighC should work without any problem on all Java versions. Unfortunately, I cannot test all the platforms and combinations on which HighC runs. Please tell me: are you using XP or Vista?

Second, any day soon, the new version (2.6), will fix a number of serious issues with Java 6.10 and above. I hope this will let you upgrade conveniently, because java 6 is notably faster.

    Sorry for the inconvenience,
