The waveform editor, at the right of the main score and on the top portion of the window, presents a list of available waveforms, or timbres:

Waveforms that belong to the current piece are shown on at the root level of the tree, while waveforms that belong to a library are shown in their respective groups. A default library, named "base" is always available at in newly created pieces. This base library contains at its first level a representative of each of the major waveform types: Sine represents the additive class, Triangle the waveshape class, WhiteNoise and noiseBand20Hz the noises classes, and FunctionalSine the functional waveforms. Then, a number of sub libraries present a sample of commonly used waveforms for each available class of waveforms: additive, waveshape, noises and functional waveforms. You can hear how a waveform sounds like by selecting it and pressing the "Play" button in the editor.
To select a waveform, select it from the tree list at the bottom of the editor.
When you select a waveform, its name and shape appear in the editor above. Waveforms that belong to a library are not editable: you should open the piece that corresponds to this library to edit its content, then save the changes and reload your piece.
