By default, the piece is set to a fairly short duration of 12 seconds.
While this is enough for trying out a few sounds or creating short loops, you
will want to be more ambitious. Click in the "duration" text field on the upper
right toolbar, and enter "40" (the duration is set in seconds for now):

The view is automatically adjusted to let you work on the full piece. While this provides you with a usable overview, it may not be always comfortable to work at such a high zoom level. Click and drag on the bottom right slider thumb below the view and bring it back towards the center of the view: the score is resized in real time to let you focus on the first half of the piece:
You can scroll (pan) through time by clicking and dragging the middle thumb of the range slider, and use the vertical slider to zoom and pan along the pitch dimension.
