HighC is a music creation tool. Its goal is to make music composition as simple and direct as sketching. Novices and children can use it to experiment and learn about harmonics and sound composition. Professional musicians can explore a new approach at composition and create sound samples, parts to incorporate in their compositions or even a full piece. HighC is inspired from Iannis Xenakis' UPIC work of the mid 80's. This machine was used by numerous contemporary music composers at the time. Thanks to nowaday's progress in computing power, this tool can now be made available to a large audience on commodity hardware.
