8 - MORE COPY PASTE and selection

Now that we have a basic pattern, we will want to reproduce it at varying heights and with various colors to produce some variations of this pattern. Choose Edit > Select All to select all the sounds, and Edit > Copy, then Edit > Paste. A new wave of sounds is created that overlaps the previous one.

Click on the center handle of the newly created sounds, and move them to the right and up, to make the start of the next wave start at 7 seconds, one 5th above the previous wave (starting at the line labeled "G"). The labels on the bottom of the view indicate the seconds from start time. Because in music notation we do not start counting at 0, the 7th second is actually labeled "8".

hint: If you accidentally deselect the block of sounds, you have the choice between undoing the operation (Edit > Undo) and starting over, or selecting again the sounds that constitute the wave using a combination of individual selections made while holding the Shift (to extend selection), or Ctrl (to toggle selection) keys.

Repeat the Edit > Paste again, and this time move the created sounds towards the bottom right, so that the wave starts one fifth below (on the "F" line, and at 13 seconds (labeled 2-4). Use the range sliders to adjust your view so that dragging the selected sounds can be done comfortably.

Repeat the operation twice again to obtain a total of 5 waves, starting at the times (0, 7, 13 and 20 (labeled 3-0) and 27 seconds (labeled 3-8) and pitches (C3, G3, F2, C3 and C4):
